The leader of Yoon Suk Yeol’s party asked the president of South Korea to explain the “tragic” decision to introduce Martial Law and called for the resignation of the country’s Defense Minister.
“As the ruling party, we feel deeply for the people,” said Han Dong-hoon, leader of the People’s Force Party, in a statement to the press on Wednesday morning (4), local time.
“The president must explain this tragic situation directly and in detail,” he added. “The Minister of Defense, who recommended this Martial Law, must be immediately fired, and all those responsible must be held strictly accountable.”
The Popular Force Party had immediately opposed the president’s decision to institute Martial Law, calling it unconstitutional.
