You can now connect your PlayStation profile to Discord

Yesterday, January 31, the developers of the popular Discord application officially announced on their blog that their platform now supports connecting a PSN account to a user account. Accordingly, owners of PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 game consoles can add their profile to Discord to display the current game activity in the messenger account (friends and members of shared servers will be able to see this activity and the time spent in the game). Moreover, the user can add his PSN ID to the list of information displayed – then it will be easier for other gamers to add him as a friend in the game session.

The process of connecting a PSN profile to a Discord account takes only a couple of minutes – the user just needs to open the application on a desktop or smartphone, or the web version of the software, then go to “Settings” and the “Connections” section, and then connect the PSN network record (you need will enter a username and password). It should be noted right away that at the moment this function may not exist – the developers have just begun to deploy an update with this feature, so it is being distributed gradually (the update has already been released in Europe and Russia). And when the connection is available, gamers will be able to see what game their friend went to to join the session in cross-platform projects, for example.

On the other hand, Sony was clearly delayed with the implementation of this integration – Xbox owners could connect their account to Discord to display similar information back in 2018. The Japanese console received such an important tool just now, right after Sony announced a strategic partnership with the developers of Discord (earlier there was even information that SIE wants to buy the platform for $ 10 billion).
