You can now install applications on Android TV directly from smartphones, literally in 2 clicks

At the Google I / O developer conference in May, the search giant announced a new feature that makes finding and installing apps on Wear OS wearable devices much easier. It allows you to install applications on smartwatches directly from your smartphone through the Google Play store. The company is currently rolling out a similar solution for Android TV devices, allowing users to add different programs to their TVs with just two clicks.

Now, in order to install any application on Android TV, you need to open Google Play on the TV or set-top box itself, or carry out this procedure through a browser. However, it will not work to do this remotely from a smartphone. At least that was until recently, but according to one Reddit user, Google has already started offering this feature.

As you can see in the screenshot, Android TV devices are now displayed in the drop-down menu next to the Install button in the latest version of Google Play. Thus, you can launch remote installation of applications on devices running Android TV. The new feature is currently available to a limited number of users and appears to be rolling out via a server-side update. Google has not officially announced the innovation, however, it is expected that in the coming days, more users will be able to launch the installation of applications on Android TV from a smartphone.
