You can now track parcels with Gmail

We’ve been talking about it for a few months. Now, come on Gmail for Android and iOS, it is a matter of fact. This is a very convenient feature, for which we often have to get lost in various online laps (or install useful apps such as Parcelbut paid after just three tracking): track the status of your outgoing and incoming shipments. And do it directly in the e-mail box, above or below the message containing the code. If someone doesn’t see it operational by default, they can activate it from the app settings of Big G’s mail.

In practice, from viewing the emails as a list we will see one green note with the estimated delivery date accompanied by a van icon. By opening the message, the delivery information will obviously be more detailed: in fact, there is a dynamic panel with shipment status and a couple of quick links to jump to the tracking page provided by the shipping company (usually even more accurate) or to read the order details.

How to schedule an email to be sent in Gmail
Not only on vacation: scheduling mail delivery at the best times can also be useful in a normal working week. Here’s how

If the feature has not been activated for your account – the so-called “roll-out” is taking place on a global scale – you can try to do it yourself by opening the settings from the Android app, tapping on your email address and scrolling up to the item «Shipment Tracking», activating it. On iOS, however, monitoring is activated with another path. Always start from the Settings, scroll to the bottom to search for the item «Data privacy» and then the «Shipment Tracking» switch is turned on.

The functionality is destined to expand: not only will it also arrive in the desktop version of mail but in the coming months it should, for example, be possible to have a sort of dashboard, a control dashboard of all shipments with tracking code at the top of the app, with any delays reported. According to the latest available data for 2018 (Statista), in Italy 19.2 million email accounts out of 44 million active (45%) they are hosted by Gmail; LiberoMail and Virgilio – hit in recent days by a very serious disservice – offer 11.1 million (26%), Outlook 6.2 (14%), Tim 4 (9%) and Yahoo 2 (4%).
