“You were supposed to fight evil, not join it.” The new firmware added problems to users of Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro

Google this week released the February Android update for the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro smartphones, which brings a number of improvements and fixes the reboot issue when using the camera in certain scenarios. Unfortunately, this update also brought new bugs.

Users complain that Wi-Fi turns off in the background after a few minutes. It also prevents your phone from automatically connecting to known Wi-Fi networks. In some cases, the problem is so severe that Wi-Fi won’t turn on at all.

The issue also affects Bluetooth, with some users reporting that turning Wi-Fi on causes Bluetooth to turn off in the background. At the moment, several solutions have been proposed, none have worked so far. Some try to disable Adaptive Connections, reset Network settings, and so on, but this does not help.

The Pixel 6 and 6 Pro will receive Pixel updates for at least 5 years after their launch last year.
