A 25-year-old woman died in the early hours of Saturday (16) after being hit in the head by a stray bullet in Porto Alegre. According to the police, at the time of the incident, a shootout was taking place between two rival criminal groups.
The victim, identified as Camila Lopes Fruck, was a nursing student. She was rescued and taken to Restinga and Extremo-Sul Hospital, but she did not survive her injuries.
THE CNN delegate André Luiz Freitas stated that Camila was in a car with four other people, two men and two women. At around 3:30 am, they stopped in front of a warehouse to buy drinks.
He explained that, at that moment, shooting began between the two criminal groups, each on one side of the avenue. Amid the exchange of gunfire, Camila was hit in the head.
So far, no one has been arrested. Police are now trying to identify the individuals who participated in the shooting.
