A teenager died on the morning of last Saturday (15) in Sao Paulo after being hit by a train from the Paulista Metropolitan Train Company (CPTM). According to the Secretariat of Public Security, the 16 -year -old victim jumped the wall of a station to seek a ball that was on the railway line.
He was even rescued at Tatuapé Hospital in the East Zone, but could not resist his injuries. The case was registered as accidental death in the 31st DP (Vila Carrão), which requested expertise.
In a statement, CPTM stated that the accident occurred around 9:30 am on the stretch between Eng. Goulart and Tatuapé stations of Line 12-Safira. The boy was hit by a train that was heading towards Brás. The company regretted the incident and said they collaborate with the investigations.
In the text, CPTM also states that security is a priority of the company and, therefore, access to the railway “is prohibited, according to the General Standard of Transport, Traffic and Security, NTS, supported by Federal Decree 1,832, of 04/04/1996.”
