A 22-year-old young man, identified as Gabriel Alves Ferreira, was found dead inside a refrigerator in Niterói, Baixada Fluminense, last Saturday (4). According to reports from friends, Gabriel disappeared after getting involved in a fight. The Rio de Janeiro Civil Police is investigating the case.
The young man’s body was found by agents from the 12th Military Police Battalion. The site was isolated and preserved for forensic examination.
In contact with CNN Gabriel’s girlfriend, Maria Eduarda Casanova, said that the young man had fought with criminals in Morro do Palácio. According to her, during the confusion, one of the suspects pulled out a gun that accidentally fell to the ground. “Gabriel became desperate and, on impulse, grabbed the gun.”
Gabriel’s friends, who were at the scene, reported that the young man threw the gun into a wooded area and fled. The Niterói, São Gonçalo and Itaboraí Homicide Police are investigating the circumstances of the death.
