The body of Ícaro da Silva, a 16-year-old teenager who had disappeared after drowning on Thursday afternoon (3), was located this Friday morning (4) by a team from the Fire Department. It was found approximately 50 meters from the coast, in the sea at Praia da Paciência, in the Rio Vermelho neighborhood, in Salvador.
The searches began on Thursday, shortly after the incident.
The activities were interrupted at night and resumed this Friday morning (4), with a team of 20 professionals, including nautical personnel, divers and lifeguards.
According to firefighters, Ícaro had gone to the beach with a colleague. While they were in an area of rocks, a wave hit them and carried them away. The friend managed to get out of the sea, but Icarus was swept away by the current.
