Recently, it was revealed that 24-year-old French student, Mathieu Vigier Latour, took his own life after a failed beard transplant in Turkey in March. Mathieu died three months after the €1,300 operation, which was carried out by an estate agent posing as the surgeon. The operation left Mathieu with permanent pain and an abnormal beard, growing at an unnatural angle. Unfortunately, the cases of patients who have suffered deformities or serious infections after such operations are many.
