YouTube sends posthumous diamond button to Tomii11’s family for inspiration

Much is said about the negative effects that social networks have, as well as the environment of bullying and harassment that they can lead to. But, like everything else, it is not fair to refer to the networks as “bad” in their entirety, since on more than one occasion they have been a vehicle for great things to be achieved, which shows the noble spirit of millions of users of Internet.

Tomás Pablo Blanch Toledo, better known as Tomi, was a little 12-year-old Chilean boy who had the dream of being youtuber. Unfortunately, he passed away in August of this year due to a brain tumor, but not before fulfilling his dream.

Tomi and his successful channel

Tomi opened his YouTube channel under the name Tomiii 11 in mid-March and by the beginning of April he had already amassed a million followers. His first video, titled Test Video, in which he appears singing and dancing for 20 seconds, reached more than four million views.

When he reached 1 million subscribers, he uploaded a video where he was seen celebrating with his family and thanking those who supported him.

Your diamond button

At the beginning of September, Tomi’s channel reached an impressive 10 million subscribers, which is recognized by YouTube with a “diamond button” (when it reaches 100,000, the recognition is a silver button, and when you have a million subscribers, you earn a gold button). On November 21, Tomi’s parents uploaded a video where they reveal that the diamond button has already arrived, accompanied by a letter from the CEO of YouTube.

Hello Tomiii 11! When you hit 100,000 subscribers, we thought, ‘Hey, this channel looks good.’ Then you reached one million subscribers and we realized that your success was no accident. But 10 million? You have blown us away. How did you do it? 10 million is not just a round number, it is more than the population of New York City. Face it, you are no longer just a big channel, you are now a global phenomenon. You’ve hit the right key and you have a legion of fans who expect a lot from you. We hope you accept this Diamond Creator Award as a symbol of our admiration and respect for all that you have accomplished. You are a strong inspiration, you have left us speechless. Keep it up.

The nobility of social media

In the video, Tomi’s family is moved to the point of not being able to contain their tears and congratulates their son. Currently, the channel has 10.6 million subscribers and all the videos are still there; They remain as a reminder that a very simple and innocent dream of a child who left very soon could be fulfilled.

Of course, Tomi was able to achieve this due to the support of various content creators, who promoted their page with the sole objective of helping a little one to fulfill their dreams, as well as millions of people who gave Tomi moments of happiness.
