Alphabet Inc.’s YouTube platform will lift a ban on former US President Donald Trump’s channel when it deems the risk of violence has been reduced, said Susan Wojciechki, the company’s chief executive officer.
The YouTube suspends Trump’s channel for allegedly violating platform policy banning incitement to violence, on the occasion of the invasion of supporters of the former president in the Capitol, on January 6.
“The canal remains suspended due to the risk of incitement to violence,” Wojciechowski told the head of the Atlantic Council. He added that recent warnings from Capitol police about a possible new attack show that the risk of violence remains high.
