Under the new rules, if YouTube’s automated system detects an offensive comment, it will remove it and notify the user that they have violated the community guidelines. If the same user continues to post toxic comments, they will be banned and will not be able to post comments for 24 hours. At the same time, users have the opportunity to contact YouTube support if they believe that their comment was deleted in error. The company noted that they had already successfully tested this feature before launch – notifications and blocking violators proved to be very effective. This reduces the likelihood of users leaving an offensive comment again.
Currently, toxic comment detection is only available for English-speaking YouTube audiences. In the future, the system will work for other languages.
