A controversial YouTuber was arrested in Mexico City on charges of child pornography after showing a video of a sexual assault to its millions of followers.
Yoseline Hoffman, known as YosStop, was detained by a judge without bail, accused of used a 2018 video of a girl being gang-raped to embarrass the victim and launch a nasty harassment campaign, according to El PaÃs.
Hoffman, 30, showed the pictures on a phone during a video on YouTube and tried to put the blame on the victim, according to the same information.
“This woman let them put a bottle of Moët in her vagina for three packs of cigarettes. “And then this woman became so popular because she was so popular,” he said in the video, which was later deleted.
The victim, Ainara Suárez, denounced four men in March for the team rape which took place when he was 16 years old in 2018. He claimed that the men, along with Hoffman and a friend, had videos of the attack.
Following Hoffman’s report on the YouTube attack, the video began circulating on pornographic websites.
Suárez, who needed treatment to overcome her nightmares, says she is the target of a harassment campaign following Hoffman’s video. Her lawyer said it was clear that YouTuber’s actions were criminal.
The YouTube star again referred to the issue through a message on social media. “They have tried to involve me in a crime I have never committed. But I fully trust the truth and common sense. Unfortunately, I find myself in a situation that has nothing to do with me. But I hope everything will be clarified soon. “
Hoffman, the only one to be arrested in connection with the sexual assault, faces up to 14 years in prison if convicted.
