The political leadership of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food decided to modernize the port of Eleftheron in Nea Peramos Kavala.
In particular, it was signed by the Secretary General. of the FSA, Dimitris Papagiannidis the act that includes the modernization of the port in Priority Axis 1 “Promotion of environmentally sustainable, resource-efficient, innovative, competitive and knowledge-based fisheries” of the Operational Program “Fisheries and the Sea” and in Measure 3.1.23.
According to data from the Hellenic Ports Association, the port of Eleftheron in Nea Peramo, Kavala, mainly serves fishing and is 17 km from Kavala.
It is also designated as a port – place of unloading/transshipment of coastal fishing vessels and swordfish.
The works that are briefly foreseen concern, among other things, the shaping of the access road within the land area of the Free Port, the supply of rubber cylindrical bumpers for the safe docking of vessels during mooring and outdoor power-water dispensers with a prepaid card and the supply of anti-pollution equipment for the protection of the marine environment.
In particular, the interventions in the current phase concern works in the land zone of the existing port, such as work on shaping the access road of the land zone of the Free Port in Peramo Prefecture of the Municipality of Pangaio. It is also planned to provide integrated services to fishermen with the installation of bumpers for the safe docking of boats as well as the installation of outdoor power-water dispensers with a prepaid card to serve them. For the environmental safety of the port, the supply of suitable anti-fouling equipment for the protection of the marine environment is foreseen.
“With the completion of the Act, the upgrading of the services provided to the itinerant fishermen and residents of the area is achieved in the context of improving accessibility and security on the sea front of the area, specifically the Land Zone of the Free Port” emphasizes the YPAAT.
For the implementation of the Act, the following sub-projects are planned to be executed:
– 1st sub-project – “Configuration of an access road within the land zone of the port of Eleftheri” – P/Y €499,000.00. It concerns the expenditure for the restoration of an access road to the port with the construction of an asphalt carpet with full rainwater management and the installation of lighting fixtures for the safer handling of fish.
– 2nd sub-project – “Supply of a) rubber cylindrical energy absorbers and b) outdoor electricity – water distributors with prepaid card” – P/Y €187,506.35. It refers to the cost of supplying rubber bumpers and outdoor power-water dispensers with a prepaid card.
– 3rd sub-project – “Supply of materials for anti-fouling equipment” – P/Y €90,497.56. It refers to the cost of supplying anti-fouling equipment for the protection of the marine environment.
