YPOIK: 56 million euros paid to the beneficiaries of the ‘Bridge’ programs for December

The Ministry of Finance continues to provide financial support to households and businesses affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

In this context, on 29 December 2021:

– In the fourteenth phase of payments of the state subsidy from the program “BRIDGE 1”, which concerns loans of 1st residence and

– In the sixth phase of payments of the state subsidy from the program “BRIDGE 2”, which concerns business loans.

The payments of the “BRIDGE 1” program at the end of December amounted to a total of 12.3 million euros and correspond to the subsidy of 114,900 first home loans and 73,120 beneficiaries.

The state subsidy continues until all beneficiaries receive 3 months of additional subsidy, ie a total subsidy of 12 months.

Beneficiaries for whom the 9-month subsidy has not been completed, will receive the additional subsidy of 3 months, after the end of their 9-month.

Taking into account the previous thirteen payment phases, of the months November – December 2020 and January – November 2021, the total amount of state subsidy paid, to date, amounts to 247 million euros to 75,666 beneficiaries.

Regarding the “BRIDGE 2” program, the payments amounted to a total of 43.7 million euros and correspond to the subsidy of 18,773 loans and 10,533 beneficiaries, who are freelancers and small and medium-sized enterprises that have been proven to be affected by the coronavirus pandemic. their turnover will be reduced by at least 20% in 2020, compared to 2019.

Taking into account the previous five phases of payments, from July to November 2021, the total amount of the state subsidy that has been paid, to date, amounts to 256.3 million euros to 10,533 beneficiaries.

It is reminded that for those beneficiaries who settled their non-performing loans with creditors during the previous 3 months (October – December 2021, according to the 3-month extension established by Law 4842/2021), the 8-month subsidy starts gradually and will be completed within in 2022.

Summing up the payments of the two programs, the total amount of the state subsidy that has been paid, so far, amounts to 503.3 million euros to a total of 86,199 beneficiaries.

By implementing these programs, the Government is strengthening the network of measures to support households and businesses affected by the economic impact of the health crisis, in order to overcome the current difficulties as soon as possible.

At the same time, it rewards, for the first time, consistency and strengthens the payment culture.
