Zack Snyder on “Rebel Moon” comments: “I have no problem with criticism”

Director Zack Snyder stated, in an interview with the British magazine Empirewho doesn't care about the negative reviews that “Rebel Moon – Part 1: The Fire Girl” has been receiving.

“I don't really have a problem with criticism. For some reason, the reaction to my films is very polarizing, and always has been. In the movie [Rebel Moon]it doesn’t seem like there’s much in it that justifies such visceral responses,” he said.

The title debuted on Netflix in December 2023 and received an approval rating of 21% from specialized critics, the main online review aggregator.

The plot follows young Kora, who starts a new life in a peaceful colony of farmers after making an emergency landing on a moon located at the edge of the universe. There, it becomes the only hope for survival of these people when the land becomes a source of conflict between two groups.

She must seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help with the resistance. Kora brings together a small band of insurgents, displaced people, peasants and war orphans from various worlds who have two goals in common: redemption and revenge.

The second part of the story, “Rebel Moon – Part 2: The Scar Marker” premieres on the streaming service on April 19th.

The universe created by Zack Snyder – director of both films –, Shay Hatten and Kurt Johnstad is inspired by “Star Wars” It is “Blade Runner” .
