Its prime minister Northern Macedonia Zoran Zaef has applied for a new passport marked “Republic of Northern Macedonia”, according to an article in the pro-government Skopje newspaper Sloboden Pecat.
A government source told the newspaper that Zoran Zaef’s application concerns the issuance of a new diplomatic passport.
THE Zoran Zaef had stated at the end of last week that from Monday, July 5, the issuance of the new passports will start, in which the new name “Republic of Northern Macedonia” will be written.
In fact, he said that he will be the first citizen to apply and receive the first passport with the new name of the country.
“The issuance of the new passports will start on Monday, July 5, under the name Republic of Northern Macedonia. “The first thing that will happen on Monday morning will be to be the first to apply for the first passport. This is another fulfillment of an obligation of the Prespa Agreement on our part,” Zoran Zaef said in an interview with the television station of Skopje, “TV 21”.
