Russia will do “whatever is necessary” to allow International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) experts to visit the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said, according to Reuters.
“In close cooperation with the Organization and its leadership, we will do whatever is necessary for IAEA experts to be on the station and give an honest assessment of the destructive actions of the Ukrainian side,” Zakharova said.
The Zaporizhia nuclear power plant, the largest in Europe, was seized by Russia during its invasion of Ukraine. The plant has come under fire in recent days, with Moscow and Kyiv accusing each other of risking a nuclear accident.
