This Wednesday (06), Zayn Malik shared a video in which he reveals details of his next album, which has not yet been named. Everything indicates that the former One Direction member's fourth album will be his most personal yet.
Through photos and recordings of the artist, Zayn narrates: “I think the intention behind this album is for the listener to have more information about me personally as a human being — my ambitions, my fears and for them to have a connection to that.”
“And that's why it's so raw, you know? It's just me writing this. I didn’t want anyone else to be between me and the music, and the music and the people who listen to it”, he concludes.
Next, Zayn presents what appears to be a snippet of a new song. Look:
According to Rolling Stone, the new project is co-produced by Dave Cobbs a well-known name in country music.
“Nobody Is Listening”, the singer’s last album was released 3 years ago. In addition to this album, Zayn is the author of “Icarus Falls” from 2018 and “Mind of Mine”, his debut album from 2016. He was part of the boyband One Direction and was the first to leave the group, in 2015.
Last year, the artist spoke about his decision to leave the band in an interview with the video podcast “Call Her Daddy”.
“I, completely selfishly, wanted to be the first person to make their own record,” Zayn explained.
“I was like, 'I'm going to burn the start for the first time,'” he said. “I'm passive, but when it comes to my music and my business, I'm very serious and competitive. I wanted to be the first to do my own thing.”
