Russian bombardment has destroyed all vital infrastructure in the Ukrainian city of Sheverodonetsk, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today, describing the occupation of the city as Russia’s “main target” at the moment.
“As a result of the Russian strikes in Severodonetsk, all vital infrastructure has been destroyed … More than two-thirds of the city’s homes have been destroyed,” Zelensky said in a televised speech.
“The occupation of Severodonetsk is the main target of the occupying forces,” he added.
Dismisses Kharkiv security chief for “not working to defend the city”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today that he had fired the head of the Kharkiv (northeast) security service, who had “not worked to defend the city” since the Russian-led invasion.
“I came, saw and dismissed the head of the security services of the region (Kharkov), because he was not working to defend the city from the first days of this war, but he was thinking only of himself,” President Zelensky explained in the daily video His message comes after his first visit to eastern Ukraine since the Russian invasion began on February 24.
