Zelensky and Macron discuss deployment of foreign troops to Ukraine for peaceful resolution

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Wednesday night that he had new discussions with his French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron, about the possibility of deploying foreign troops to Ukraine as a measure that could help achieve a lasting peace. “We share a common vision: credible guarantees are necessary for a peace that can truly be achieved,” Zelensky said via X from Brussels where he met with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and European leaders. “We continue to work on President Macron’s initiative regarding the presence of (military) forces in Ukraine, which could help stabilize the path to peace,” he added.
