Zelensky holds minute of silence after attack on children’s hospital in Kiev

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky paid tribute to the victims of Monday’s (8) Russian attacks that led to the death of 28 people — among the structures hit was a children’s hospital in Kiev.

In the morning, Russia sent 40 missiles into Ukrainian territory, according to Kiev estimates.

Zelensky is in Poland and observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims during a press conference. The Ukrainian president promised to file a complaint with the UN Security Council about the attacks.

The Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday (8) that Kiev’s allegations that it had deliberately targeted civilian infrastructure in the attack were “absolutely false”.

The Kremlin still claims that the destruction was caused by Ukrainian weapons.

“Numerous photos and videos published from Kiev unequivocally confirm the fact of destruction caused by the downing of a Ukrainian air defense missile launched from an anti-aircraft missile system inside the city,” the ministry said.
