Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he had spoken today with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and that Ukraine expected progress on its application for membership of the European Union in the coming months.
“I had a meaningful conversation with the president of the European Commission,” Zelenskiy said on Twitter. “The EC’s opinion on the UA (Ukraine) application for EU membership will be prepared in a few months. The UAE government and the EP have received instructions. We are moving forward together towards our strategic goal,” Zelensky wrote on Twitter. .

Zhelensky: We will not abandon EU membership to compromise with Russia
Ukraine will not give up its bid to join the European Union in order to reach a compromise with Russia under an agreement to end the war, the deputy chief of staff of the Ukrainian president said today.
“I will be categorical, this is completely unacceptable. It is our choice, the application for EU membership has been submitted and is now being implemented,” said Deputy Chief of Staff Andrii Sybiha.
Speaking on national television, Sybiha said negotiations with Russia were ongoing but difficult.
