Zelensky in Australian Parliament: Calls for more sanctions against Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told the Australian Parliament today that new and stronger sanctions were needed against Russia to increase pressure on Moscow to invade his country, according to Reuters.

Australia has provided defense equipment and humanitarian supplies to Ukraine, as well as a ban on exports of alumina and aluminum ores, including bauxite, to Russia.

It has fined a total of 443 people, including businessmen close to Russian President Vladimir Putin, and 33 entities, including most of Russia’s banking sector and all entities responsible for the country’s public debt.

Call on the Dutch parliament to suspend all trade with Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky today called on the Dutch parliament for weapons, assistance in rebuilding his country and ending all business with Russia in response to Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.

“Stricter sanctions are needed so that Russia does not have the opportunity to continue this war further away in Europe. Stop all trade with Russia,” the Ukrainian president told Dutch lawmakers by teleconference.
