Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today’s Russian missile attack on the port of Odesa showed that Moscow will find ways to avoid implementing the grain export agreement reached with the United Nations, Turkey and Ukraine.
“This only proves one thing: whatever Russia says and promises, it will find ways not to implement it,” Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video message posted on Telegram.
Russian missiles today hit infrastructure related to the export of grain at the port of Odessa, Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ignat announced.
“The port of Odesa was bombed, especially the place where the grain export process was underway. We shot down two missiles and two other missiles hit port infrastructure, where there was apparently grain,” he added.
Earlier, Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov said Ukraine continues to prepare to resume grain exports from Ukrainian Black Sea ports despite a Russian missile attack on the port of Odesa today, a day after the Istanbul accords were signed.
“We are continuing technical preparations for the start of exports of agricultural products from our ports,” Oleksandr Kubrakov wrote on Facebook.
