Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Friday that “the most intensive work of all time” is underway with US President Donald Trump’s team before the Ukrainian leader’s visit to Saudi Arabia next week.
The trip aims to treat negotiations to end the war with Russia.
“Today, the most intensive work of all time is happening all day with President Trump’s team at various levels – with many calls. The topic of course – peace as soon as possible, security as reliable as possible, ”said Zelensky.
According to Zelensky, Kiev continues to work with “in the appropriate stages” partners for peace in Ukraine. He adds that his team is preparing for the meeting “to accelerate peace and strengthen security bases” with US authorities in Saudi Arabia next week.
Zelensky also commented on the big air strike to Ukraine launched by Russia at night, where several regions were targets of dozens of missiles and drones.
“This Russian attack on our energy system, our civilian areas, occurred so casually to Russia, so cowardly and cynically as always, as if there were no efforts from Ukraine and the world to end this war,” he said, “Ukraine is ready for peace as soon as possible.”
