Ukraine is fighting for the security of all of Europe and must be a full member of the European Union, President Volodymyr Zelensky told Swedish lawmakers on Thursday (24) via video call.
“We are not only fighting for the people of Ukraine, but for the security of Europe, and we have shown that we deserve to be a full member of the European Union,” Zelensky said in his speech to Sweden’s parliament.
In a video released on the day that the war in Ukraine completes a month, Zelensky urged Western nations, which are meeting this Thursday (24) in Brussels, Belgium, to take “serious measures” to help Kiev fight the Russian invasion.
In an unprecedented way, NATO, G7 and European Union summits are expected today.
“At the end of these three summits, we will see who is our friend, who is our partner and who sold us and betrayed us,” says Zelensky in the video posted on social media.
The Ukrainian president has again called for a no-fly zone and said the West has not provided Ukraine with planes, modern anti-missile systems, tanks or systems that identify warships.
