Volodymyr Zelensky has asked Western allies to speed up promised arms deliveries as Kiev tries to fend off a new Russian offensive in northeastern Ukraine. “We need deliveries to be significantly accelerated, the president of Ukraine said today. Too much time passes today between the announcement of the aid packages and the actual presence of the weapons on the front line,” he said in his speech this evening, after meeting with the head of US diplomacy Anthony Blinken in Kiev. The US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, arrived today Tuesday 14/5 in the morning in Kyiv by train, on an unannounced visit. Anthony Blinken visited Kiev at a time when Ukrainian forces have faced several setbacks on the front following a long delay in the delivery of US aid. Source: RES
