Zendaya, Mila Kunis and more: The best looks from the 2022 Oscars red carpet

After last year’s limited capacity event, the Oscar returned with full force this Sunday (27) – and the red carpet returned to something similar to the glamor of before.

Although it was postponed for the second year in a row due to cases of Covid-19there was barely a mask in sight, with social distancing restrictions also relaxed.

There was a lot of red on display when guests arrived at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, Los Angeles. Kristen DunstAmy Forsyth and Best Supporting Actress winner, Ariana DeBose, were among the guests who used the tone – not unlike the rug itself.

At other times, stars have embraced the event’s comeback and invested in sparkly dresses and exaggerated silhouettes. Among the most dramatic looks were the emerald Jean Paul Gautier dress by Jada Pinkett Smithwith its voluminous ruffled train, and the theatrically structured custom Schiaparelli column dress from Maggie Gyllenhaalwith gold leaves and crystals.

The Oscars maintained its reputation as Hollywood’s most restrained awards ceremony, however, with several of the best-dressed stars of the night opting for the classic.

Rachel Zegler impressed in an elegant black floor-length dress and the winner of best actress Jessica Chastain wore a sparkly two-tone dress in bronze and lavender, while others looked to gold and silver, such as Lupita Nyong’o in a Prada dress, and Zendayawho wore a personalized two-piece Valentino ensemble – a white top paired with a silver disco skirt.

Several participants – including Diane Warren and Jamie Lee Curtis – took the occasion to send messages of support to the people of Ukraine with ribbons or jewelry.

The men of the night kept things relatively simple in the classic black tie, though Daniel Kaluuya and “Attack of the Dogs” star Kodi Smit-McPhee were among a handful of stars who opted for colorful outfits (in a blue Prada jacket). -navy and pastel Bottega Veneta tuxedo, respectively).

But was Timothée Chalamet who stole the show by going shirtless in an embroidered lace jacket and high-waisted pants from Louis Vuitton’s Spring-Summer 2022 womenswear collection. He then put his own spin on the gender fluid outfit with a sparkly necklace and a pair of black boots.
