It is worth noting that the first successful tests of the Zircon, a Russian hypersonic anti-ship cruise missile, took place back in July 2021, when the missile launched from the Admiral Gorshkov hit the target at a distance of over 350 kilometers. Shortly thereafter, on October 4, the agency announced another successful missile launch test, but from a submarine. What this time was the distance to the hit target has not yet been reported, but “Zircon” will soon complete the test cycle and from next year will enter service with the Russian Navy – this was announced two weeks ago by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
