Zklend developers publicly turned to a hacker through a tweet on social network X, offering him a reward of 10% of the stolen funds if he agrees to return them to the specified address of the Ethereum. If the hacker returns the stolen funds, the platform will refuse any legal claims related to hacking. If the developers do not receive a response from the hacker until February 14, Zklend will attract law enforcement agencies.
Zklend suspended the withdrawal of funds from the platform to prevent further risks. To investigate the incident, the protocol developers are closely cooperating with Starkware Ltd, Starknet Foundation, Zeroshadow.io (earlier Chainalysis Incident Response), Binance Seciation Team and Hypernational Labs. They monitor the stolen funds and investigate the main reason for exploit.
The developers of the Zklend protocol promised users complete transparency throughout the investigation. They promised to publish a detailed report after the end of the investigation. Zklend assured that the trust of users remains the main priority for the platform, and they will do everything possible to quickly resolve the problem situation.
Last year, another protocol of decentralized finance – Thala was injured from hacking. The hacker managed to remove the crypto asset from the liquidity bullets for a total of $ 25.5 million. However, later the cracker agreed to return the stolen funds for a reward of $ 300,000.
