“Zodiac”: Investigators believe they have found the identity of the serial killer

It is (and probably will remain) a dark symbol of pop culture as well as its character Zodiac serial killer songs were written and movies were made like “Dirty Harry” of 1971 with Clint Eastwood to chase a guy named “Scorpio”, whose character was based on the Zodiac. The director David Fincher made the 2007 film of the same name The creators of the crime series Criminal Minds say they were influenced by the way the Zodiac worked, the notorious killer who terrorized the San Francisco in the 1960s.

Today, almost half a century after the last time the Zodiac committed a murder, an independent team of investigators claims to have traced the identity of the mysterious killer who killed them. five people between 1968 and 1969 (he himself claimed in a letter that he had killed a total of 37, but this was never confirmed) and then sent to the media bloody pieces of cloth and coded messages, which contained, as he said, information about his identity, such as reports the extensive ABC article.

THE Case Breakers, a team of 40 former police investigators, said he located the man he believed to be the killer, using new forensic evidence and information from eyewitnesses.

The team gave sworn testimony to the authorities and obtained decades of photographs and named the man as “Gary Francis Post” who died in 2018.

THE U.S. Air Force veteran and oil painter Post, from Sierra Foothills at the foot of the Sierra Nevada USA died at the age of 80 on August 23, 2018 and his end was anything but calm, since according to his death certificate, as reported by TMZ, he died of sepsis, septic shock, dysphagia and vascular dementia. The same certificate states that Post suffered from hypertension, osteoporosis, hypothyroidism and atrial fibrillation, that he was married and engaged in painting.

Researchers point out that there are a lot of sufficient evidence to support their theory, such as:

– a watch with splashes of blood bought at a military base.

– a heel print of the same style and size at Post’s house, found in three other Zodiac murder scenes.

– some characteristic scars on the forehead similar to the Zodiac sketch by the San Francisco Police Department.

– a link between his name and the coded messages sent to the police by the alleged killer.

Jen Buchholz, a former member of the Army counterintelligence team, also said that Letters from the Zodiac Killer Reveal the Post, After Decrypting to them. “One has to know Gary’s full name to decode all these complex anagrams,” he told Fox News.

“The case remains open”

In response to these new allegations, the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) confirmed to CNN that research remains open.

“We are not in a position to talk about potential suspects, as this is an open investigation,” the SFPD said in a statement. “The Zodiac case remains open. “We do not have any new information to share at this time,” the FBI said in a statement to CNN.

The Zodiac, who was never arrested, rose to prominence by sending letters to police and local media boasting about his murders until 1974. Claiming to have killed at least 37 people, he also wrote a few letters in code and included them in letters of pieces of clothes of the victims with blood, as ostensibly proof of his actions.

Who was the Zodiac?

His first victims were 17-year-old David Faraday and 16-year-old Betty Lou Jensen, who had been dating in December 1968 when they were fatally shot by a serial killer.

On July 4, 1969, another attack was carried out on another couple in a parking lot near Wagejo. THE Darlene Ferrin, 22, was shot five times and succumbed to her injuries but 19-year-old Michael Magou survived despite receiving four bullets.

The last couple in the Zodiac’s sights was Cecilia Shepard, 22, and Brian Hartnell, 20. Both were stabbed several times.

Since then, there have been many names who “played” at times as key suspects, but until recently the most prevalent version of the Zodiac was said to be the doomed pedophile Arthur Lee Allen from Wageho, California, who died in 1992, just a month after he was recognized by Magou. While Allen was investigated for Shepard’s murder and police searched his home in the 1970s, he was never arrested.
