A teenage daughter of Brazilians has been missing in the United States since August 28.
Amanda Caldeira, 15, lives with her family in Harrison, New Jersey, and was last seen boarding a train and getting off in Jersey City, about 10 km from home.
Since then, the young woman has not returned and was reported missing on the afternoon of the same day by her mother, Lucelia Santos.
On her Facebook profile, Lucelia Santos asks for help and says that her daughter suffers from asthma.
In one of the posts, Lucelia said she had received a prank call and asked that it not happen again. “Someone with a young voice called me and made a terrible joke. I almost had a heart attack, my blood pressure went up,” the mother reported.
“Don’t think this is a joke, I’m suffering. She could be in danger,” the mother pleads in the post.
The city of Harrison has just under 20,000 inhabitants and is 15 km from New York.
The Harrison Police Department launched an investigation into Amanda, described as a “light-skinned Hispanic” with long black hair, standing approximately 5 feet tall and weighing between 90 and 100 pounds.
She was wearing a beige shirt, jeans and a black backpack. The young woman frequents Jersey City, according to her family.
Amanda had not been found as of the last update of this article.
