18 Movies That Were A Global Smash But Got The Worst Reviews From The Experts

We all have a list of lousy movies that we love with our hearts, especially when they remind us of a specific moment in our lives or that year that marked us forever. Some of the best films, both in cinema and in catalogs of streamingThey are those that were not so well received by critics but they won our hearts.

There is something special about ridiculous comedies, action stories with impossible scenes or intense and unrealistic romances that simply captivate us over and over again. These 18 films, badly criticized or not, have been part of cinematographic history and although experts think differently, they managed to raise millions of dollars worldwide.

1. Franchise of Terminator

Why are they bad? The first and second installments became groundbreaking for their original story, but since then, each of the new versions, alternate characters, and invented villains are more ridiculous than the last.

2. Franchise of Mission Impossible

Why are they bad? It is the same story with the same twists and the same result in each installment, however it has become one of the most popular franchises despite the fact that it sometimes has a bit boring performances and unrealistic scenes.

3. Franchise of Fast and Furious

Why are they bad? If Mission: Impossible is out of touch with reality, this franchise challenges the laws of physics and logic. Even so, and despite the fact that several of its main characters have changed over the years, they are some of the most entertaining films out there.

4. Trilogy of Kissing Booth

Why are they bad? Honestly, the story about the nice and cheerful girl who ends up in love with a jerk is already more repeated than the chorus of Work by Rihanna, however it was one of the biggest hits on the Netflix platform.

5. Ace Ventura, a different detective

Why is it bad? As much as we love Jim Carrey (which is why this movie became so famous) the plot is quite ridiculous, the character himself becomes fat with how irreverent he is and, well, the truth is that several of the scenes that has disgusting.

6. The saga Twilight

Why are they bad? Come on, you and I know that although Twilight is one of the movies that we could see a thousand times, the next four installments were worse and worse than the previous one. And well, even though Kristen is now going to play Lady Di, since Bella didn’t have much acting rank.

7. Ghostbusters

Why is it bad? Despite having generated a lot of expectation, especially since it would be carried out by women, the film ended up being a fiasco. Of course, seeing Chris Hemsworth as the clueless and muscular assistant managed to captivate the audience and make it popular.

8. Venom

Why is it bad? Let it be clear that we love Tom Hardy, but the first installment of this new franchise was too… flat. It is understood that DC fans love this version for the comics, but if it weren’t for Hardy and his track record as a great actor, the film would have flopped.

9. Bram Stoker’s Dracula

Why is it bad? As well as Venom, the only thing that saves this movie are its protagonists. There is no doubt that Keanu Reeves and Winona Rider have great chemistry, because the truth is that the special effects and Reeves acting as an English man is really bad.

10. The Da Vinci Code

Why is it bad? Although Tom Hanks has great movies under his name, this is one of those that only caught attention and became famous thanks to the mystery and legend behind the main title. However, in the end they solve nothing and the sequel is even worse.

11. Clueless

Why is it bad? This may be controversial, but although it is one of the most popular films of the nineties, to the point of becoming a cult classic, the story itself is very basic, the performances are x and the only reason we love it is the outfits.

12. The day after tomorrow

Why is it bad? It was one of the first Hollywood films he participated in, and although it managed to gross millions at the box office, it has an unreal story that ends with the same old cliche as all apocalypse or doomsday movies.

13. Someone like You

Why is it bad? We still can’t believe they made a new version. Yes, maybe the first one became one of the most popular of the nineties, but the story is offensive, the performances are laughable and the truth is that the protagonist was a jerk.

14. Saga 50 shades

Why are they bad? Speaking of louts. We all know that, just like Twilight, this franchise managed to become so famous and gross millions thanks to the chemistry between its protagonists and, well, the intimate and intense scenes that each of the 4 films has.

15. Jennifer’s body

Why is it bad? The one simple reason she’s famous despite the predictable plot and no-joke characters is Megan Fox’s performance of a popular girl turned demon.

16. Really love

Why is it bad? It was one of the most famous in its time and several of the scenes became references for the following romantic films, but the story itself is very strange and the romances between married people and obsessed men are wrong.

17. Legally blonde

Why is it bad? Who doesn’t love Elle Woods? We all want to be her and have her security. However, the story is very simple and, come on, nobody can get into Harvard that easily, as much as we want to believe our favorite popular girl.

18. The princess’s Diary

Why is it bad? Another darling. Yes, Anne Hathaway is one of the actresses who marked our puberty, but that does not exclude that the plot is completely unreal. Still, we’ll see her a thousand more times until we’re 50 ladies.
