5G signal starts working in the city of São Paulo on Thursday (4), says Anatel

The sign “Pure” 5G will be activated in the city of São Paulo this Thursday (4), informed the counselor of Anatel (Agênia Nacional de Telecomunicações), Moisés Moreira, to CNN this Monday (1st). With the activation, Brazil now has five capitals with the resource.

Brasília (DF), Belo Horizonte (MG), João Pessoa (PB) and Porto Alegre (RS) already offer “pure” 5G, which features higher internet speed and a shorter response time when operating in the 3.5 gigahertz range.

Also according to Anatel, an extraordinary meeting of Gaispi, the agency’s group that takes care of the implementation of 5G in the 3.5 GHz band, will take place this Tuesday (2) to formalize the operation authorization.

5G technology in Brazil

Brasília was the first capital in the country to offer pure 5G, on July 5th, while Belo Horizonte, João Pessoa and Porto Alegre were activated on the 29th of last month.

Despite the arrival in the mentioned capitals, the resource should reach the whole of Brazil in just four years, according to an analysis by Eduardo Tude, president of the consultancy Teleco.

This is because, according to Tude, “5G is not a ready-made car that you get and use”, it is necessary to carry out frequency tests, since the 3.5 Ghz band is also used by several Brazilians who have an antenna. parabolic.
