75th anniversary in North Korea: Kim Jong-Un “will continue to strengthen his military strength”

To applause and cheers, North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un took the stage Friday night to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the ruling party.

In his speech, Kim Jong-Un urged the people to stand firm in the face of the “tremendous challenges” posed by the coronavirus pandemic and the sanctions imposed by the United States on its nuclear program.

Without going into direct criticism of Washington after two years of stagnation in disarmament negotiations , the North Korean leader did want to issue a warning: his country “will continue to strengthen its military force for self-defense and deterrence”, and will make use of it if they are attacked.

With a millimetrically choreographed military parade, the Pyongyang army exhibited a new ICBM, not yet tested, but greater than the longest range tested to date.

Broadcast delayed hours later on state television, the great parade to commemorate the achievements of the single party and its leader, drew tens of thousands of spectators.
