The National Confederation of Trade in Goods, Services and Tourism (CNC) estimates that eight out of ten (85%) Brazilian businessmen will hire new employees this year-end.
What increased the number of hires for the period was the economic upturn caused by the World Cup and the commemorative dates at the end of the year, such as Black Friday and Christmas.
If the projection released this Friday (25) is confirmed, it will be the largest volume of hiring ever made by the Brazilian retail trade between the months of November and December. This is what the historical CNC series points out, which began in 2011.
With Black Friday, retail trade moved more than BRL 4.2 billion – the highest revenue since 2010, when the date was incorporated into the national retail calendar. By Christmas, the CNC projects that 109,400 temporary workers will be hired, the highest number in nine years. Of these, 11% are expected to be hired.
Of the 85% of businessmen who claimed to hire at the end of the year, 21% should “greatly increase” the number of employees at the end of the year. 64% expect to “slightly increase” the number of employees by December 2022.
“The arrival of the end of year festivities and the more favorable performance of the economy and trade are encouraging intentions to invest to absorb employees and encourage consumption”, points out the CNC economist responsible for the research, Catarina Carneiro da Silva.
