A guide to the best pastries in Paris and Lyon, by a Brazilian expert

There were 20 days between Paris e Lyon with Danyel Steinle, my partner and life partner, in search of incredible sweets, unforgettable recipes and diverse techniques. For those who don’t know, there is no destination in the world more famous than the France to eat sweets, desserts, breads… Who never fell in love with a croissant, macaron, petit gâteau or a creme brûlèe, right?

Below are 7 must-visit addresses: they are must-see and innovative houses, perfect places for lovers of sweets and bakery.

Cyril Lignac Pastry

A pastry shop do famous chef Cyril Lignac is well known in Paris and has a few units around the city. We went to Paul Bert’s. Here, I tasted the Tarte au Citron, a light, delicate, crunchy and creamy sweet. The place is charming and the list of temptations is long.

Dorner Brothers

This place is in the top 3 of the trip. Unforgettable sweets. Texture, sweetness, lightness and acidity. Here, the tip is to grab one of the local delicacies and stroll through the streets of Lyon. Parfait!

Ritz Paris

Going to Paris and not eating a thousand leaves is like not having gone. And one of the best classics I’ve found on my travels there is François Perret’s, at the Ritz. I miss you already.

Cédric Grolet Opera

Cédric Grolet is one of the most famous names of the new generation of pastry chefs in the world. Controversial istagrammer, but undoubtedly a business man from the confectionery. The place is beautiful, it looks like a candy jewelry store, where some are prepared in front of customers who are always prepared to photograph and film everything.

Unique Glacier and Minna Patisserie

Here we have two very special places that belong to the same owners. At Único I did a tasting of amazing ice creams. From the pear sorbet to the chocolate ice cream, they are all very good and with unique flavors. Minna Patisserie’s sweets are worth a taste of the most varied. I guarantee that after these two places your trip will not be the same. The owners are wonderful people who become our friends. We had days there that will always be in our best memories of the trip.
