The company Amazfit, which produces smart watches and other wearable electronics, conducted a large-scale study of the dynamics of sleep among Russians, which showed that in March, residents of all regions, except for the Urals and North Caucasus federal districts, began to sleep worse compared to January.
The Russians began to sleep less, the average sleep duration decreased from 7.6 to 7.4 hours. In addition, the quality of sleep has also decreased: in January, the deep phase (during which the body recovers most intensively) accounted for 22.3%, but in March this figure dropped to 21.9%. All these indicators are still within the normal range, but a negative trend can be traced.
To maintain a good quality of sleep, Amazfit advises you to follow these simple guidelines:
- breathe properly – special breathing exercises can normalize blood oxygen saturation;
- refuse a smartphone before going to bed – it is better to read a paper book, plunge into the world of music or just talk with loved ones;
- walk in the fresh air – if you do this for at least 40 minutes, it will be easier for the body to prepare for sleep;
- Going to sleep at the same time every day will help your body get a good rest.
Amazfit also emphasizes that thanks to the Zepp application, its smartwatch can track sleep phases and improve its quality – the utility keeps a user diary in which important indicators are automatically recorded. Due to this, it is possible to determine when the quality of sleep deteriorates sharply, and promptly take the necessary actions.
