The people in charge could not believe their eyes theater and firefighters at Syracuse of New York when they found a man naked to be stuck between walls of the building and begging for help.
Firefighters were called at about 7:30 a.m. local time after someone was heard knocking through the wall and shouting for help.
It is believed that the man was stuck in a narrow space between walls giving access to water and sewerage networks for two days.
Rescuers cut the walls of the theater and found him naked as reported by local media while he is now being treated at a local hospital.
In a statement on Facebook, his fire service Syracuse stated that it was not clear how he gained access to the small space behind the wall.
“I do not know if he came in to warm up or to use the bathroom”
Speaking to Syracuse.com, a local news outlet, Landmark Theater director Mike Intaglietta said the man was seen wandering around the building earlier in the week.
Officers who saw him lost track of him and assumed he was gone.
“I do not know if he came in to warm up or to use the bathroom,” he added.
John Kane, the deputy chief of the fire department, told local media that the man had been hiding in the theater for two days and was trapped after falling into a gap between the walls of the building’s men’s bathrooms.
Police said the man appeared to be suffering from a mental illness and would not be charged with trespassing.
