A small plane crashed today in the west Ukraine, killing the Ukrainian pilot and three American passengers, according to authorities and the media.
The four-seater aircraft, a Slovak-built Advantic WT-10, crashed into a house in a village in the Ivano-Frankivsk region before being engulfed in flames, according to Ukraine’s emergency services.
The four people on board at the airport died in the crash, the service added by posting on its website.
The Interfax-Ukraine news agency, citing a source in the Ukrainian security forces, said the four victims were a Ukrainian pilot and three Americans.
Asked by AFP, the US embassy in Ukraine declined to comment.
The causes of the tragedy were not immediately known.
