A sheriff in rural Kentucky was taken into custody Thursday after he shot and killed a judge, local authorities said. Letcher County Sheriff Mickey Steins, 43, was taken into custody without incident at the courthouse where Judge Kevin Mullins, 54, was fatally shot, state police said in a statement.
