Recently, a whole line of very inexpensive and very compact cars has appeared on the automotive market. Many of them are from China or India, and such machines do not have any characteristics.
The Microlino is a completely different car. Firstly, this is a Swiss project. Secondly, at a cost of 12,000 euros and tiny dimensions, the maximum speed here is 90 km / h, and the range is 200 km.
The Microlino was clearly inspired by the tiny cars of the past. Take the BMW Isetta, for example. There is only room for two people in the car, and even then there are clearly restrictions on the size of these people. The company itself says the car has room for two people and three crates of beer. By the way, the company even says that Microlino is not a car at all, but a hybrid of a car and a motorcycle, and the specifications indicate the L7e class – a heavy four-wheeled motorcycle. But ordinary people will still often call it a car.
The project is now at the stage of creating the latest prototypes. They will be completed in the summer, after which they will be used for certification tests. The production car should be presented at the IAA in September.
As for the already known parameters, it is also worth noting the weight of 513 kg, acceleration to 50 km / h in 5 seconds and an electric motor with a power of 11 kW (15 hp) and a torque of 100 Nm. The base battery has a capacity of 8 kWh, and the optional battery has a capacity of 11 kWh. Apparently, those same 200 km are available in the second case. The dimensions of the car are 2430 x 1500 x 1450 mm, the trunk volume is 220 liters.
