A Turkish cargo ship was hit by a missile in the Ukrainian port of Kherson

One Turkish owned cargo ship was hit by a missile in the port city of Kherson in southern Ukraine, causing a fire, according to video from the scene and imgs.

THE missile hit the bridge of the Tuzla vessel yesterday, marine safety company Ambrey said, causing the fire. The video shows flames engulfing the ship’s control room.

Reuters was able to confirm the location of the ships and buildings seen in the video, which matched satellite images of the area. Reuters was unable to independently confirm the date the videos were taken.

The ship, which has been docked at the port since February 2022, is managed by Cayeli Shipping, which was not available for comment.

A img, as reported by the Athens News Agency, stressed that there are twelve Turkish ships trapped in Ukrainian ports, including Chersona, which are not covered by the agreement on grain transit through the Black Sea, a UN-brokered agreement.

There was an attack last night, probably in the harbor, and an explosive device appears to have hit the ship. The Turkish ships in Kherson are manned by a minimal crew, so there are no injuries or casualties,” the img said, speaking on condition of anonymity.
