A US warship shot down a drone in the Red Sea

The Navy cruiser USS Carney of USAwhich is located in Red Sea, shot down a drone allegedly launched from Yemen, Reuters news agency reported today, citing two unnamed US officials.

The US armed forces have been put on a heightened level of alert for threats related to organizations close to Iran, because of war between Israel and Hamas which has escalated tensions in the wider Middle East region.

Last month, a US warship shot down 15 drones and four cruise missiles fired by Yemen’s pro-Iranian Houthi rebels at Israel.

The US recently sent a strong naval force to the Middle East, including two aircraft carriers and their accompanying ships, along with about 2,000 marines.
