Abercrombie & Fitch shares fell 11% in premarket trading as the company reported a second-quarter loss of $16.83 million, or 33 cents a share, on net income of $108.5 million.
Adjusted losses in the latest quarter came in at 30 cents per share compared with adjusted earnings of $1.61 per share a year ago.
Revenue fell to $805.9 million from $864.85 million. Estimates called for earnings of 22 cents per share and revenue of $843.6 million.
The company emphasized that for the 3rd quarter it expects sales reduced by a low single-digit percentage compared to the results of the previous year, to 905 million dollars.
Analysts were expecting sales of $896 million.
Operating profit will be close to break-even with the prior year decline due to lower sales.
