The actress, known for playing Brenda in the series “Barred at the Dance” has spoken openly about the challenges he faces amid his fight against the advanced stage disease.
During podcast participation “Let’s Be Clear” Shannen – who filed for divorce from her now ex-husband, Kurt Iswarienko in April last year, amid rumors of betrayal on the part of the photographer -, he revealed that the treatment has directly affected his sexual desire.
“When you don’t feel good about yourself, it will impact your libido. However, when it really affects your libido, when medications take away your libido, or make things less pleasurable, sex stops being good,” shared the 52-year-old star.
Shannen recalled that she tried to deal with this difficulty while she was still married, before filing for divorce.
“This is not the life I want to live. I don't want my husband to live like this either. So I need to resolve this.”
The podcast's host, model Anne Marie Kortright, reported that she advised Shannen to seek help from Dr. Sherry Ross, a celebrity gynecologist, to face the changes in her body.
Recently, the actress claimed to have discovered her ex-partner's infidelity on the eve of surgery to remove a brain tumor.
“I went into that surgery early in the morning and walked into the room after finding out that my marriage was essentially over, that my husband had been having an affair for two years,” the artist said.
“I felt so cheated! Ultimately, I felt immensely undervalued by someone I had been with for 14 years, by someone I loved with all my heart. Having to go through all of this while trying to decide whether to get a divorce and trying to find out the truth about everything,” she added.
Shannen was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, going into remission two years later. In 2020, she announced that the disease had returned, this time affecting her brain.
