Nextorage, a subsidiary of Sony, has released an SSD that can be used with the PlayStation 5. This comes a few days after Sony officially announced support for expanding the M.2 SSD slot on the PS5. The new Nextorage NEM-PA PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 NVMe SSD series are available in 1TB and 2TB versions.
The performance of the 2TB module is slightly better. The sequential read / write speed is up to 7300/6900 MB / s, respectively, and the random read / write speed can reach up to 1 million IOPS. In terms of durability, the 2TB version is rated to store 1400TB of data. There is 2 GB of DDR4 RAM for caching.

Both devices come with an aluminum heatsink. Once installed, players can use the extended storage to download, copy and run PS4 and PS5 games and other multimedia applications on the PlayStation 5. Players can also freely move games and applications between internal and external storage.
