Adele Gelfo, first vaccinated in Lombardy: “I’m pro vaccine, it will help us against this virus”

“It was a perfectly normal vaccination, like the others. Now I will go home to rest and spend some time with my daughters, before returning for a new shift », Ms. Gelfo told reporters.

Also adding: «I will be under control during this day, then in 21 days I will do the second dose. I am pro vaccine, in my opinion it is a valid help against this virus. But everyone will decide how he wants ».

After Adele Gelfo, chosen to represent the Niguarda social and health operators, today received the vaccination, among others, Grazia Fresta, representing the Service Operators of the Niguarda Hospital, Roberto Carlo Rossi, president of the Order of Doctors of Milan e Pasqualino D’Aloia, president of the Milan Order of Nurses. And also, Dr. Fiorenzo Corti, representing general practitioners, Silvio Garattini, president of the ‘Mario Negri’ Institute of Pharmacological Research and Dr. Fabrizio Pregliasco, president of Anpas (National Association of Public Assistance).

“Today is a day of hope, an exciting moment” said the general manager of Niguarda, Marco Bosio. “We went through a year of suffering but thousands of people were welcomed and looked after within these walls. It is a moment of pride for many healthcare professionals. A moment of light and hope. Something exceptional. A fundamental path begins for us, for the citizens and for the operators ».

Also present at the Milanese Vaccine Day Massimo Gaudina, head of the Representation of the European Commission in Northern Italy: «These first vaccinations are little more than symbolic but real. It is a first step », he highlighted. “It is essential to be here in Lombardy which was the first region in Europe affected by Covid.
